History & Statement of Faith
Our Story
Maple Grove Christian Retreat Centre was established in 1947 by the Free Methodist Church as a permanent place for evangelistic camp meetings and spiritual renewal. From the beginning, the vision was simple yet powerful: create a place where people could step away from daily life and encounter Jesus Christ in meaningful ways.
Over the decades, Maple Grove has grown and changed, but its heart has remained the same. What began as a gathering place for the Free Methodist constituency has become a welcoming retreat centre serving Christians from many evangelical traditions, as well as families, churches, and community groups.

A place set apart
Set among trees, open spaces, and quiet paths, Maple Grove offers an environment where faith can take root and flourish. Here, campfires become places of testimony, worship services become moments of renewal, and shared meals become opportunities for connection.
Generations have walked these grounds: children, parents, grandparents, each adding their own stories to God’s ongoing work at Maple Grove.
Our Mission & Calling
Mission: To facilitate ministries that make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.
We believe camp and retreat ministry is a powerful tool for discipleship. By creating intentional spaces for worship, learning, service, and rest, we invite people to deepen their relationship with God and with one another.
The Holy Scriptures, as originally given by God, are divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and constitute the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh; we affirm his virgin birth, sinless humanity, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, ongoing mediatorial work, and personal return in power and glory.
The salvation of lost and sinful humanity is possible only through the merits of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, received by faith apart from works, and is characterized by regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit enables believers to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Church, the body of Christ, consists of all true believers.
Ultimately God will judge the living and the dead, those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
